Busy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. How do you all with more than 1 kid do it?! We had our traditional breakfast with Mimi and Pop on Saturday and Jay, Jamie and Clara joined us too. Then Audrey and I ran errands. After naps Audrey and I went to a birthday party for a little girl in her Mother's Day Out class, Bailey. (Scott stayed home to watch the Ole Miss game as we beat FL!)It was a lot of fun. They had ponies there for the kids to ride and Audrey LOVED it. She probably rode them about 40 times. I literally had to drag her away. She cried all the way home : (

I posted a few pictures below. The one with the blonde-haired girl is the birthday girl, Bailey.

On Sunday I helped run the Survivor's Tent at the Race for the Cure. For those who don't know Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) my sorority is one of the major sponsors of the Survivor Tent at all the nation's Race for the Cure. It is always so inspiring to meet the survivors every year. At the Chattanooga Race for the Cure we place pink ribbons on the surivor hats- one for each year they have survived. I believe the highest one we did this year was 35 years! That is AMAZING.

We will find a cure for this awful beast. Until we do the best way to become a survivor if you should be caught by this beast is early detection. Self-breast exams done monthly will detect this beast the earliest.

I was completely exhausted on Sunday and I'm still recovering today but it was a LOT of fun. I have vowed to run the 5K next year in the Race for the Cure. I better get started training. A picture of some of the ZTAs working the tent was taken by the local paper and is below. ENJOY.

A Girl's Favorite Pastime

Audrey loves to ride the lawnmower with her daddy. They usually mow the yards while I'm at work so that's why she started riding with him. She really loves it and if she's really tired and ready for a nap the sound of the mower will put her to sleep. I think Scott said she feel asleep like 3 times last week while mowing. When I got home today he wanted to mow our yard. He tried to sneak downstairs to get started but Audrey heard the garage door open and had a fit to go ride with her daddy. Since I was home I got some pictures of this Father-Daughter event.

Audrey's 1st soccer game was this morning. There are 6 kids on the team. They let them warm-up and practice for about 30 minutes and play for about 20-30 minutes. It was too cute and funny. Audrey couldn't get the concept of taking the ball away from the other team. I mean, the game does go against everything we tought them- don't take things and wait your turn. She did score the only goal her team got. The other team scored like 4 or 5 (I lose count). The boys on the other team had no problem taking it away from our team. We were very proud of her. She went onto the field and played without either of us having to go with her. She did a little crying but not much and the other players had their parents on the field with them so I think that in itself is an accomplishment. Of course, there are not real coaches, some teenage girls help them but they did a great job with the kids! Finally, the most important thing, at least I think so, i s after the game the make both teams line up and give high-fives to each other for sportsmanship. I LOVE that they do that. Here are some pictures of her practicing, stretching and playing. A few of Clara cheering her on too! After they finsh they all get snacks and Audrey shared her with her cheerleader- so sweet! We play again Thursday night!

3 Years Old and Wise beyond her years...

Lately we've started to notice that Audrey really isn't a baby anymore but really growing up. I mean we obviously know that fact well... here's a few examples.

The other night after playing with some flashcards Scott told her to clean them up. We weren't really paying attention but could tell that floor was clean. So when she asked for something else Scott handed it to her and turned around to see all the flashcards had been placed under the coach! I don't know how Scott kept a straight face to scold her and make her pick them up because I was laughing very hard behind her!

The other day before I left for work I was talking to Audrey. I told her that she had to go to the bank for mommy today. She said "ok mommy, do we need to go to the post office too?" Too smart for her own good. I guess you can tell the types of errands I request from Scott when I'm off to work during the week : )

Finally, she went all day yesterday without a nap and was happy. Now she has skipped naps in the past or taken very short ones but normally she's a grouch when this happens. Yesterday she didn't take one at all and she was the happiest child playing with us last night. Scott's napping days are over I'm afraid- as well as my Saturday afternoon nap : (

Well not much else happening here. Audrey got some cleats for soccer last weekend and they are SOOOOOOOOO Cute. I didn't know they made cleats that small but they do and shin guards. They are black with pink accents! I'll take pictures at our first game in 2 weeks.

Otherwise we are enjoy the slightly cooler weather and I"m ready for some fall and holidays to be here. Scott is enjoying some football on TV.
